IWUOnline Testimonials

"The Master of Education program at IWU helped me become a true agent of change in my school. I have been prompted to analyze a current problem in my own school and to participate in the search for a solution. Due to the direct result of my M.Ed. studies, I am more confident and I know that I can make positive contributions within my school community. As a full time teacher and the busy mom of two very active teens, the online program allows me to pursue a degree in a way that no other program has. Although challenging, I am finding this approach much better suited to my needs."

"After six months of research, I chose IWU's online MBA program. The cost was comparable and fair for the method of education versus the others I'd reviewed. The convenience of not having to "be in class" was one of the strongest points. I'd spent the previous three years in school full-time, missing many of my daughters' school functions and childhood milestones.

What IWU did not allow was for me to slack off. I worked hard for my degree...a path chosen to allow me to teach college-level courses on a full-time basis. I love the online format! I have since returned to face-to-face classrooms for a job requirement, and find I do not learn or retain as much or as well as I did with IWU. My participation is also greatly reduced.

I am now teaching full-time at a community college in Idaho; a job I could not have gotten without my MBA. A job I was able to take without disturbing my then near-complete graduate education. Additionally, once my MBA was complete, I started teaching online."

"When I discovered the IWU MBA Online Program it was a dream come true. I had wanted for many years to pursue my master degree, but my job requires a lot of travel and attending a ground campus was just not feasible. You can schedule your work during the week at your convenience. Best of all I have been able to "attend" class during my business trips. I have checked my classmate's discussion comments, posted my replies, and sent in homework from various cities in the U.S. and Mexico!"

"I had earned a BS from IWU several years prior. When I knew that I wanted to work on a Master's, I went to the IWU website to see if there was an online option. To my delight, there was! Because of my work I knew that it would be impossible for me to go to a classroom environment. My only option for the degree was to go online.

My motive was to become better equipped for future leadership within my organization, primarily in the areas of strategic planning. Changes in our world are laser-like and in my environment we need to be better prepared for making nimble strategic decisions. The knowledge gained from the degree program has better equipped me for these challenges.

I developed a routine of closing my office by 4:30 p.m. every day and converting it into a study room. By addressing assignments regularly and consistently and keeping focused upon the goal, I was able to endure. I also had the additional challenge of extensive travel and managed to take my laptop with me everywhere I went and completed many, many assignments from a hotel room.

On the whole, I was introduced to new levels of research via the World Wide Web, and I have found myself using the technology more in my daily work. Even though there was never a face-to-face learning environment with classmates or instructors, there were many friendships made over the extended timeframe of the course. When we did meet at the graduation, it was like a reunion. I cherish the experience.

Today I find myself drawing frequently from the well of knowledge gained. When I have a need to ponder critical decision making matters, I begin to recall much of the management information taken in through the eighteen months of study. Utilization of the Internet for research and fact-finding has also been an outcome of my studies. Within the past four months I have been asked to submit a reorganization plan for our National Headquarters. Many of the lessons learned from the degree program became very valuable to me in shaping my own response to this request. Some of my recommendations are now being applied.

I will and have encouraged many of my peers to consider the IWUOnline experience."

"I chose IWU because of the quality, experience, reputation, and Christian focus. I believed having my Master's degree would provide me with an edge over my peers and allow me to continue growing within my company. When I started my Master's program, I had a two-month-old daughter and I was working 45-50 hours per week. I was able to manage my personal, work and school life by working my same type schedule. I would come home, spend time with the family until they went to bed, and then get online to go to class. Most of my work was completed during the hours of 10:00 pm and midnight. Being able to complete my degree without really disrupting any other aspect of my life and getting it done in 18 months was really special.

I believe my online learning experience has made me a better student and learner! People can really scrape by in a typical onsite class without always reading the material, but students in an online class must really read the material and be able to articulate it back through written communication to the other people in the class.

Today I have moved into a more responsible position with my company that provides me with the opportunity to expand and really move up to the next level within the next year!"

"With the online learning experience I got out of it exactly what I put into it. I learned much about myself and how I relate with others, where my strengths are and what I need to work on. I learned that I could push myself to get up earlier than normal to get my school work done. A supportive wife and kids enabled me to spend the time needed.

Today I have more confidence in my abilities and talents. I have kept up personal improvement. I have read several business books and used the library to find articles on management and leadership to continue to hone my skills and expand my ideas.

It has been said that every 3 years, one's intellectual skills become obsolete if not cultivated. The MSM program helped drive that point home for me and planted a seed that has bloomed into a flower. Not only have I learned new skills, I have been given new tools which will enable me to continue my learning."

"I would have to say what encouraged me about the BSM program, was first the spiritual foundation that IWU offers throughout the courses in the program. There is a genuine personal touch from administrators, staff, and facilitators that is not found in other adult programs. The online program offers great flexibility, allowing working parents to obtain their degree while still being an active parent and having a career. I would highly recommend the online program that IWU offers to any adult looking to further their education."
